City Clerk

Jurassic Parliament has worked with city clerks since 2005. We value the opportunity to assist, and to learn from, these public servants who are critical to the functioning of our municipalities.

Our May 2010 newsletter featured a statue of the late Linda Ruehle, city clerk of Issaquah, Washington, whose lengthy service to her community was honored with a life-size statue set opposite to city hall.

We believe that city clerks should be accorded the respect that goes with their position, since they often are highly knowledgeable about procedure. Read our article advocating that clerks be empowered to raise points of order.
